LESSONS LEARNED
It would be an understatement to say that we have been experiencing a normal soccer season this year. Nothing has been normal, and we were left with no expectations to look forward to, for a definite start date for the fixtures. Finally, though there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. As plans are being made for what the fixtures will look like this year. There is a distinct possibility that we will be able to begin training again soon. Mind you, there are no guarantees at the moment, but I pray that as the Almighty has His hand on all that is happening in our lives, we will have a better ending to the year than how it all began.
It has been difficult for me too, as I have been wanting to get out at the games to meet you all. The truth is, that we will never know what the future holds for us. We can make decisions based on the information at hand, but we need to be ready to make adjustments as each circumstance presents itself. This is true for our daily lives not just for soccer. I think that we need to take notice of how each situation in our lives works out and store that information away for future reference, to be ready to deal with similar situations that present themselves in the future. We may not always get it right but with the Lords help we will get through it.
Be encouraged, pray for guidance and listen for the answers that He will send.
LIFE’S LESSONS by Rob Briggs
As I contemplate the years gone by of plans and projects left undone Life lessons, messages, love and competitions lost, and won Would it make a difference turning left and not the right? Decisions despairingly made and changes made in hindsight Yet life’s events stand large and bold when successes shine so bright Who inspired those choices that you made when indecision hides what is right Messages, plans and words arrive that speak so plainly in your ear The comforter, so divinely sent with solutions, perfect and so clear Do you claim the glory and take the credit for the things that He has done? Or stand so proudly and sing His praises for the victories He has won Don’t accept the adulation of this life you risk rewards one cannot describe Be strong, stay true to your faith, ‘cos there’s no place left to hide And yet I know I have no control Over the things the Lord has done He paid the price for you and me And planned our course to run It’s up to us to make the most of life and things and such Not dwelling on our wrongs But trusting in Him so much
