Coaches and Managers

Coaches and Managers are the life blood of Logan United Christian Soccer Club. Below is a summary of the Coaches and Manager roles, however, please feel free to contact any of the Management Committee members for further clarification..

Coach

Coaches the team, following the Codes of Behaviour and applies coaching principles.

Manager

The basic function of a Manager is to help with the organisation of the team before and after games, leaving the Coach free to coach the team.

At Training

Coach:

  • Unlocks field at the beginning of training (including toilets)
  • Locks field at the end of training (including toilets if no other team is training)

Manager:

  • Unlocks the field at the beginning of training (including toilets)
  • Locks the field at the end of training (including toilets if no other team is training)

Before the Match

Manager:

  • Advise/remind players of time and venue of the next game, emphasising that they should be at the grounds 30 minutes before kickoff.
  • Advise the Coach of any absentees for the next match.
  • Send Player availability emails and print match card
  • Organise fruit and jersey washing rosters with parents
  • Be responsible for Managers kit which includes Jerseys, match cards, vest, players identity cards, whistle (U8), pen, Manager Manual, Match ball.

Coach:

  • Be responsible for Practice balls
  • Shed keys
  • Bibs (if required)

Matchday

Coach:

  • Coaches the team, adhering to the Codes of Behaviour.
  • Ensures all players are rotated on the field to provide equal game time.

Manager:

  • Checks all players are wearing Club jerseys, shorts, socks and shinpads.  SHINPADS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
  • Managers can wear Vested Official vest or delegate to a spectator. The Vested Official is responsible for spectator Code of Behaviour.

After the match

Coach:

  • Hand out any Encouragement Awards.
  • Report any incident or injury.

Manager:

  • Collect all jerseys and arrange for them to be washed all together. PLAYERS ARE NOT TO TAKE JERSEYS HOME.
  • Submit results to the Results officer
  • Report any incident or injury.

Bluecards

If you are planning to manage or coach one of our teams you will be required to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card. Blue Cards are free for volunteers so there is no financial outlay required. If you have a current Working with Children Blue Card please provide your number and expiry date to the Club Secretary secretary@lucsoccer.com prior to commencement of the training season. If you need to apply for a Blue Card, application forms can be obtained online – see https://www.bluecard.qld.gov.au or from the Real Life Church office.
