TRUST – IN THE LORD FOR ALL OUR NEEDS
Hello and welcome to Chappie’s Chat. Thanks for joining me for this the first chat. My name is Bob Briggs and I have just joined the team of Logan United Christian Soccer Club this year as the Chaplain. I have been looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible through the season this year. Unfortunately, we are experiencing some unexpected problems that are preventing us from engaging in our normal activities. So, I’m praying we can connect through this medium while we get past this situation and hopefully we can continue beyond.
I believe we, as a nation, will be back to normal before too long, which brings me to the subject that I want to share with you here. That is, we can have confidence in the fact that we can trust in the Lord for all things.

“If you believe in a God who controls the big things, you have to believe in a God who controls the little things. It is we, of course, to whom things look ‘little’ or ‘big’.”
Have you ever looked at the wrist watch on your arm and wondered how does it work. Who put it together, who designed it? Because in reality it couldn’t just have ‘popped’ into existence as if a cyclone hit a rubbish dump and just by chance assembled all of its parts. I believe that nobody would think like that. It has to have been designed by someone with intelligence, right? Now, can we apply that logic to the human body on who’s wrist that watch rests? What a marvelous design is that? The human body contains nearly 100 trillion cells. While the human brain contains about 100 billion nerve cells. The average adult takes over 20,000 breaths a day. Consider the intricate design of that wrist, with the eight small bones of the wrist and two long bones of the forearm that work together to perform such delicate tasks and as well, having the strength to accomplish heavy duty work. It can only point to the fact that we have an intelligent designer who not only created us but who looks after the ‘little and big’ things in our life.
I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wondrously made: marvelous are thy works, and my soul knows it well. Psalm 139:14
At this particular time of global concern about the uncertainty facing each of us, where do we get the answers to the many questions we all have? I believe it comes down to trust. Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. How do we know this? Well we find in the Bible that the Lord has sworn, saying, ‘Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, And as I have purposed, so it shall stand’ Isaiah 14:24.
I have found over the years that the more I read the Word the better I get to understand it and the less I worry about what the future holds. That is called building a relationship with the Lord. The stronger the relationship, the more I trust that the Lord will be there for me every step of the way. I know it isn’t easy to develop this habit, it took me a while and even now I sometimes struggle to put aside enough time. But it is a valuable investment for anyone who feels that they would like a closer relationship with the Lord.
